Thea’s Book Creation Cafe October 2026
Just for Artists!
A Different Kind of Class for a Different Kind of Writer
You have a book in you.
Maybe you’ve been thinking about it for years.
Maybe you have pages of notes, images, stories, questions, fragments, beautiful bits and pieces — but no clear sense yet of how they all become a book.
That’s where the Cafe comes in.
You don’t have to arrive knowing exactly what your book is.
You don’t need a perfect idea.
You don’t need a 99-point outline.
And you definitely don’t need to become a different kind of person to write it.
Because this Cafe is for artists.
You may think in images, make unexpected connections, work intuitively, or need to wander around inside an idea before you know exactly what it is.
You may have been told that your thinking is too messy, that you need more structure, or that you need to follow someone else’s method before your book can take shape.
If that’s you, Good.
You’re welcome here.
I know that kind of creative thinking because I’m an artist too.
So we’ll use visual organizing, mind-mapping, journaling, conversation, imagination, and writing to help you discover and shape the book you want to make.
I’ll bring the writing craft, structure, and guidance.
You bring your particular way of seeing.
And together, we’ll make some book magic.
☕️ How It Works
Four Weeks. One Book. A Whole Lot of Possibility.
This is a four-week live Zoom gathering for heart-centered artists and writers who are ready to finally, but gently, begin their books.
This is a four-week live Zoom gathering for heart-centered artists and writers who are ready to finally, but gently, begin their books.
It will also help you if you are in the middle of a book and want to make sure your work will have lots of your kind of readers.
We’ll meet on four Wednesdays in October:
☕️ October 7
☕️ October 14
☕️ October 21
☕️ October 28
1:00–2:30 PM Pacific
I’m keeping it very small — just 6–10 people — because I want this to feel like a real creative gathering where we can actually get to know one another and where I can give you individual attention.
We’ll meet once a week for teaching, conversation, and exploration.
And then there will be an optional 30-minute Q&A where you can ask questions and get writing coaching on your particular questions and your particular stuck places.
☕️ Week One: Find the Heart of Your Book
So you can find the ONE thing that will determine if people read your book or use it for a coffee coaster.
We’ll work on finding the heart of your book and seeing the idea underneath all those beautiful bits and pieces that have been swirling around in your head.
☕️ Week Two: Find Your Reader
So you know who you’re writing for — and why they’ll care.
How might your book help your reader’s life open up?
And how might making this book help your life blossom?
We’ll explore the relationship between you, your book, and the person who will eventually hold it in their hands.
☕️ Week Three: Find Your Book’s Genre and Structure
So you can see what kind of book you’re making and where it belongs.
Is this a teaching memoir? Transformational nonfiction? A workbook? A novel? A blended genre?
Where does your book fit in the larger world of books?
And because you’re artists, we’ll use visual organizing tools like mind-mapping to help you explore a supportive yet inventive structure for your book.
No giant, grueling 99-point outline required.
☕️ Week Four: Find Out How to Start — and Finish — Your Book
So you can create a writing habit that actually works for you.
Because eventually we have to answer the question:
How the heck are you going to actually sit down and write this gorgeous thing?
I’ll help you lay out a path that is right for you.
🧉The Book Creation Cafe Includes Access to The Inspiration Juice Bar
There will also be an Inspiration Juice Bar inside the Cafe — a bonus resource with guided meditations, recorded affirmations, and some of my podcasts to give you knowledge backup on the topics we’ll be exploring together.
Miss a class?
Want to dive deeper into something?
Need a little encouragement on a Tuesday afternoon?
Stop in to the Inspiration Juice Bar whenever you need a creative refill.
Shy Folks and Introverts Welcome
Ask Questions.
Or Just Listen.
Each week I’ll teach for about an hour.
Then you can stay for an optional 30-minute open Q&A and coaching session.
Bring your doubts.
Bring your stuck place.
Bring the thing you’ve been procrastinating on.
We’ll work on it.
And if you’re someone who would rather listen than raise your hand, that’s absolutely fine, too.
You’ll learn from everyone else’s questions as well.
In a small group, someone else’s “I don’t know how to…” is very often exactly the thing you were wondering about yourself.
That’s part of the magic of doing this together.
☕️ A Very Small Cafe, On Purpose
There will only be 6–10 people this year.
The last time I offered the Book Creation Cafe, in 2023, it sold out.
I like working with small groups, so I will keep this one intentionally intimate.
I don’t want you to disappear into a crowd.
I want to help you find out how to start a winning book that serves both you and your reader, and give you some individual attention along the way.
By the End of Our Four Weeks…
You won’t just have a collection of ideas about your book.
You’ll have a much clearer sense of what you’re making, who you’re making it for, where it fits in the world of books, and how you’re going to start, write, or finish the thing.
You’ll leave with a clearer book, creative ways to organize it, and a writing practice you can carry forward.
And a Little Something Extra
There’s one more thing I’d love to offer the first five people who join me:
A private one-on-one book coaching session with me.
A full hour devoted to your book, your questions, and whatever you most need help with.
This isn’t a “taster” session or a preview of some bigger coaching package. It’s a real, useful hour of book coaching for a heart-centered writer who wants to make something that matters.
And there will be no sleazy upsell at the end. Just coaching.
My treat. 🎁
☕️ Yes, I'll take a seat in the Café!
Who The Book Creation Café Probably Won’t Work For
This Cafe is for heart-centered artists who care deeply about what they put into the world.
It’s not about racing toward a bestseller list.
It’s not about competing with other writers or trying to land a big publishing deal.
And it’s certainly not about turning your creative life into another achievement project.
It’s about a different kind of ambition.
You have a book you want to bring into the world because you believe it might matter.
Because there are stories you want to tell.
Things you’ve learned that might help someone else.
A way of seeing the world that you wish someone had offered you when you needed it.
Maybe your book will make someone feel less alone.
Maybe it will give someone courage.
Maybe it will help someone see their own life a little differently.
And maybe, simply by making the book you’ve dreamed of making for years, you’ll fulfill something important in your own life, too.
That’s the kind of book I want to help you make.

You Might Be Ready for the Book Creation Cafe If…
You are an artist with a book idea that has been keeping you company for a while.
You want an inspiring, out-of-the-box way to begin.
You’d like some structure, but you don’t want to squeeze all the life out of your creative process.
You’d rather see, map, sketch, connect, and discover your way into a book than force yourself into a rigid outline.
And you’re willing to listen, dream, draw, doodle, write, experiment, and see what happens.
You promise NOT to squash down the bright and beautiful ideas that are about to leap out of your brain like happy gazelles.
You don’t have to arrive knowing exactly what your book is.
That’s part of what we’re going to discover together.
Your Investment
The Book Creation Cafe is $275 for all four weeks of class, plus email or text access to me between sessions when questions or stuck places arise.
And the nice thing is, I usually charge more than that for a single coaching session, which I’m including as a bonus for the first five people who join.
A Special Early Bird Discount
I know many artists are being thoughtful about where they put their money in the current economic climate, so I want to make the Cafe as accessible as I can.
For a limited time, I’m offering $100 off the regular $275 Cafe price.
That means you can pull up a chair for $175.
Early Bird Discount is available until September 15, 2026.
And just so you know: this isn’t a big, expensive mastermind. It’s a small, intimate, four-week creative gathering—a place to slow down, think deeply about your book, ask questions, get personal guidance, and begin making the thing you’ve been carrying around inside you.
I hope this makes it a little easier to say yes if the Cafe feels like something you need right now.

That’s October 7, 14, 21, and 28.

A Testimonial From The Book Creation Café 2023
“What a gift this class was! All four sessions were like having a best friend (who happened to be a writing teacher) helping me with exactly what I was afraid of, what I was procrastinating on, and what I could go forward now and finally do.
And what a gift you have, Thea. You’re so real, you’re so personable, and yet you are also just so right about the craft of writing. Your tips and ideas are so relatable. The course was just absolutely perfect. Thanks.”
